HALIFAX –  Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative leader Karen Casey received unanimous support for her resolution commending health care workers' efficient response to the H1N1 pandemic in Nova Scotia.

Casey introduced the resolution in the Legislature this afternoon, pointing out that even as vaccination and prevention strategies unfold across the country, the province's medical community is doing its best to keep people informed.

"Looking after the health care needs of Nova Scotians is particularly stressful in times where there is a threat of mass illness, but this is an unprecedented situation, because the distribution of information is so critical," she said.

"We simply want our health care workers to know that we understand they are doing their best to cope with scheduling and procedural changes as they happen, and to address the questions and concerns of frustrated patients being forced to wait in long line-ups to receive their vaccinations."
