JUDIQUE – Following a recount, Progressive Conservative Allan MacMaster was officially declared the victor of the October 20 by-election in Inverness. His vote margin increased from 50 to 54.

“I never had any doubt that the initial proclamation from election night would stand,” said MacMaster. “I am very pleased that the final number count is in and I can continue on with the work I have been doing for the people of Inverness.”

"I respect the democratic process and the outcome of the recount," said Progressive Conservative leader Karen Casey. "I look forward to having Allan join us in the legislature when the next sitting of the House resumes.

The date for MLA-elect MacMaster’s swearing-in ceremony will be determined shortly.
