TRURO – Progressive Conservative Leader Karen Casey released the following statement in acknowledgment of Remembrance Day:
“This Remembrance Day marks the 91st anniversary of the end of the First World War. Not only will we honour the Canadians that fought and fell during that conflict, but also the brave men and women who served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Afghanistan Mission and those deployed in peace keeping missions around the world.
We will remember that the freedom we all enjoy today is due to the continuous efforts of Canadian Forces personnel.
Canadians will gather tomorrow at Cenotaphs across this country to pay their respects to the men and women who have served their country in the past and who continue to serve in the present.
I encourage all Nova Scotians to take time on November 11 to pause, reflect and remember the sacrifices that were made so our nation will remain strong and free.
Lest we forget.”
