Premier appoints Bain to Deputy House Leader

HALIFAX, NS - Premier Rodney MacDonald today announced that Keith Bain, MLA for Victoria - The Lakes, will serve in the position of Deputy House Leader.
"Keith Bain will work closely with House Leader Cecil Clarke to lead our caucus in the House of Assembly," said Premier Rodney MacDonald. "The Progressive Conservative caucus and I have tremendous confidence in Keith to strengthen our team and develop our strategies for moving our legislation forward."
Bain is pleased to add this new responsibility to his current duties on the Public Accounts, Veterans Affairs and Economic Development committees.
"I'm looking forward to getting to work on planning and prioritizing for our legislative agenda," said Bain. "It's certainly a position where I can use my past experience as Caucus Whip to assist in shaping our plans and building on our past success."
Chuck Porter, MLA for Hants West will take over Bain's former position as Caucus Whip on top of his new duties as Caucus Chair.
