TUSKET – The Municipality of Argyle is set to receive nearly $4,500 in emergency preparedness funding.
“The funding, through the Joint Emergency Preparedness Program, is for three projects that will enhance the ability of our community to respond quickly in times of crisis,” said Argyle MLA Chris d’Entremont. “You never know what the future will bring and it is important that we remain as prepared as possible.”
Details of the local three projects are:
- Phase 3 EOC upgrades, $3,345.28;
- Emergency plan digitizing, $540; and
- Annual emergency management training, $540.
JEPP is cost-shared by the federal and municipal governments to ensure there is a standard level of emergency preparedness across Canada. In Nova Scotia, the Emergency Management Office administers the program and assists in identifying projects that qualify for funding.
