Youth employment programs announced

TRURO – Nine positions are available in Colchester North for students through the Student Career Skills Development Program.
“Giving students the opportunity to explore a potential career-related position is an invaluable opportunity and I am pleased to see so many local, not-for-profit organizations taking part,” said Colchester North MLA Karen Casey. “I encourage students looking for summer work to check into the positions being offered this summer.”
The local organizations taking part in the Program this summer are Atlantic Christian Training Centre; Bass River Heritage Society; Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq/History & Culture/Mi’kmawey-Debert Site; Debert Military History Society; North River & District Recreation Association; Wild Blueberry Producers Association of Nova Scotia; and Willow Lodge Association.

The Student Career Skills Development Program partners with various community not-for-profit organizations. The positions are open to students who were enrolled full time for the 2009/10 school year and who will be attending a post secondary institution for full time study in September 2010.
