Local groups receive marketing funds

TUSKET – Five local organizations are receiving nearly $4,000 in funding through the 2010-2011 Festivals and Events Marketing Program.
“Festivals and events that highlight Acadian and South West Nova Scotia culture play a huge part in attracting tourists to our region,” said Argyle MLA Chris d’Entremont. “I am pleased the government recognized these five organizations, and contributed to what I know will be successful events in South Western Nova Scotia.”
Funding details are as follows:
· Le Village Historique Acadien de la Novelle Écosse - $200 for Cultural Festivals
· Le Village Historique Acadien de la Novelle Écosse - $200 for Order of Good Cheer
· Le Village Historique Acadien de la Novelle Écosse - $200 for Fête des Acadiens
· Le Village Historique Acadien de la Novelle Écosse - $250 for The Haunted Village
· Le Société historique acadien de Pubnico-Ouest - $400 for Fêtons des Acadiens
· Le Société historique acadien de Pubnico-Ouest - $400 for the 4th Annual Quilt Show
· Le Société historique acadien de Pubnico-Ouest - $400 for the Birding Tern Festival
· Argyle Abuptic Festival - $400 for the event
· Festival acadien International de-par-en-bas - $725 for the event
· L’Association du Musée de Wedgeport - $700 for the 7th Annual Tuna Tournament Festival
The program is administered by Destination Southwest Nova Association on behalf of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage.
