Murray Scott

Served 20 years as police officer with Moncton and Springhill municipal forces. Mr. Scott received Governor General's Award for bravery and a 20-year police exemplary service medal. He was president and a provincial director of Local 203, Police Association of Nova Scotia.
Political Career:
First elected to represent people of Cumberland South in March 1998, he was re-elected in 1999, 2003, 2006 and 2009. Mr. Scott was elected Speaker of the Legislature in August 1999 and September 2003. He has served as Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act, Minister responsible for the Regulations Act, Minister responsible for Part II of the Workers' Compensation Act and Minister responsible for Military Relations.
Mr. Scott most recently served as Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Minister responsible for Nova Scotia Business Incorporated.
