Education:
Diploma in Adult Education from St. FX, a diploma certificate in Management from SMU and a diploma in Advance Care Paramedicine from Holland College.

Employment:
Worked as a paramedic for the past 16 years and a Staff Development Supervisor, Communications Division of Emergency Medical Care Inc.

Political Career:
Mr. Porter was a Councillor for Town of Windsor, where he was Chair of the Finance Committee. He was elected to the Nova Scotia Legislature in June 2006 and again in June 2009. He is Chair of the Progressive Conservative Caucus.

Biography:
Chuck was elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in June 2006, 2009 and again in 2013.

During his time as MLA, Chuck has served as the Deputy House Leader for the PC Caucus and held various committee roles including Vice Chair of Human Resources, Veteran’s Affairs and Economic Development. He was a member of the International Energy Council for Nova Scotia and the Internal Economy Board, as well as Deputy Government House Leader.

Prior to his election to the Legislature, Chuck was a Councillor for Town of Windsor, where he was Chair of the Finance Committee. Chuck worked as a paramedic for 16 years and was a Staff Development Supervisor, Communications Division of Emergency Medical Care Inc.

Chuck received a Diploma in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University, a diploma certificate in Management from Saint Mary’s University and a diploma in Advance Care Paramedicine from Holland College.

Chuck and his wife Leslie and their family reside in the Town of Windsor.
