Aug 18 2010

Halifax – All eight Members of the Progressive Conservative Caucus unanimously elected Jamie Baillie as interim leader today during a caucus meeting held in Halifax.

“I would like to confirm that our caucus has officially elected Jamie Baillie as our interim leader, and we are ready to move forward with Jamie at the helm,” said PC Caucus Chair Keith Bain.

The PC Party must also confirm Baillie as the interim party leader.

“I'm looking forward to rebuilding a PC Party that presents a strong alternative to the NDP," said Baillie. "Today, my first meeting with caucus was an important and productive step in that direction."

The PC provincial executive will meet this Saturday in Springhill.
